Hi, I'm Kara, founder of The Revival Co. I’m a professional organizer in Dayton, Ohio, and I help women love their homes again.
I've seen what happens when a home finally works. Stress goes down. Time opens up. My clients feel more confident, proud of their space, and happier in their everyday lives. Getting to be part of that change is a gift and an honor, and it's why I love what I do.
My organizing background
Before founding The Revival Co., I spent nearly 20 years working as a project manager in the corporate and non-profit worlds. I learned how to create and implement plans that meet goals and solve problems. I can do the same for you and your home.
The people who know me best say I think just a little bit differently and come up with ideas that never entered their minds. I’m the person they call when they just can’t figure out what to do and need advice.
My brain is wired to find better ways to do things and to make the world more beautiful. A former boss said my work had that extra “Kara flare.”
I have a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a master’s degree in business administration. I am a humble recipient of the Dayton Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award and the Neighborhood Pride Home Beautification Award.
I live in Kettering, Ohio with my amazing husband and two adorable young kids.
Organizing my home changed my life
I honestly didn’t know what my mission was. I just knew I couldn’t take it anymore – aggravated by the clutter, overwhelmed by the lack of order, and disappointed in myself. My home wasn’t in disarray, but the chaos was more than I could handle.
For two weeks, I furiously and ruthlessly purged and organized almost our entire house.
The sense of relief I felt was profound. My home was in order, and I felt revived inside. My mental and emotional capacity increased. My aggravation subsided. I felt more free.
It was the start of a transformation to consistently peel away what I don’t need or want, and I knew I needed to help others as a professional organizer.
And so The Revival Co. was born to help others experience this same sense of revival.
Why "The Revival Co."?
When your home is organized and beautiful, something shifts in you too. You feel lighter and freer, with room for new and exciting things in your home and in your mind. That's the revival I'm talking about: a revival of your space, and a revival of your heart and mind.
Too many of us live in "someday." Someday I'll clean out the basement. Someday I'll finally decorate the living room. I help you make those decisions now, get them off your mind and your to-do list, and enjoy your home in the life you're living today.
What It's Like to Work With Me
It's always me. Unlike larger firms, I personally do the work on every project. You'll have direct access to me from our first call to the final reveal, whether you have a question, need advice, or just want to talk through a decision.
It's personal. Organizing means working knee-deep in someone's belongings, and along the way, my clients share the stories behind them: where something came from, who gave it to them, and why it matters. I get to know my clients well, they start to feel like family, and honestly, I miss them when our project is over.
Every home is different. Everyone's life, family, and home are unique. I love learning about each situation and building a plan around your specific challenges and preferences. No two projects are the same, and I love the variety and learning with each home.
